How do I enter the manager Portal?
If you have the full SysAid version no. 4.0, you were already given an access to the SysAid manager portal, and one manager license for free.
To create a manager, go to Preferences>User Management>Admin Management, and allow a certain administrator an access to the manager portal.
Now, the user you have given access to, will see the Manager portal when logging into SysAid.
To allow access to more administrators, you can purchase more manager licenses.

 

What is a SysAid manager?
SysAid now includes a new kind of user- the SysAid manager.
SysAid managers log into a new interface, designed especially for managers. Note that to define a certain user as a manager this user should be first registered as an administrator in SysAid.

 

What is the dashboard?
The dashboard is a screen in the Manager Portal that displays four different charts.
These charts provide you with an instant picture of the current state of affairs in your IT department.
Each manager can choose to see the most relevant charts to him/her.

 

How can I change the charts shown in the dashboard screen?
To change the display of charts or the parameters within charts in the Manager portal Dashboard screen go to:
Design Dashboard> Selected Chart Properties.

In this box, located on the right of your screen, you can choose from the dropdown menu the charts to display on the dashboard, and to edit the parameters of the different charts.

How can I run reports?
Go to:
Manager Portal> Reports.
In the tree diagram click the name of the report you wish to run.
Fill out the parameters for running the report, and click Submit.

 

How can I modify reports?
Modifying a report requires programming skills.
Go to:
Manager Portal> Design Reports.
In the tree diagram click the name of the report you wish to modify.
In the Action box located to the right, click the Modify Report button.
In the popup window, choose to modify either the prompt, the script, or re-design the report, using iReport 1.2.3.

 

How can I schedule reports?
In the tree diagram click the name of the report you wish to schedule.
In the report parameters popup window, check the Schedule Report box, and choose the interval for re-running the report (Day/Week/Month).
You can also edit the schedule for the report in the Scheduler screen in the Manager Portal.

 

How to send reports to a specific user?
Go to:
Manager Portal> Reports.
In the tree diagram, click the name of the report you wish to send to a user/users.
In the report parameters popup window, browse for the name of the user/s you wish to send the report to, and then click Submit.

 

How can I create new reports?
A user or asset can be listed under a certain location. On the user's or asset's display page, the location can be chosen from a drop down list.

To edit the list of locations, go to:
Preferences/Customize/Customized Lists. Select the location list.

If you contact us for support, please attach your SysAid log file. You can find it under root\WEB-INF\logs, in the directory where you installed SysAid. The file is called sysaid.log.

If you encounter a problem while installing SysAid, please attach the file called wrapper.log as well, which is located in the "logs" folder.

Finally, if relevant, please attach a screen capture. These will help us determine the source of your problem.
